2025 Pedals for Progress Event

A bike has the power to move its rider toward a destination; a bike provided at no-cost to someone who needs it has the power to move its rider toward independence, opportunity, and connection to resources. At Upcycle Bikes, a bike is more than a bike; it’s a lever for progress.

Join us at Pedals for Progress 2025 on Thursday, September 18 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Goei Center to celebrate the progress made by individuals building stability in their lives with accessible transportation; reflect on our collective progress as a growing organization and community resource; and invest in the future progress through continued impact.

“The Michigan Department of Corrections received over 90 bicycles from Upcycle Bikes in 2024. The gift of a bicycle for our parole and probation participants is a huge first step in setting them up for success. Our participants utilize these bicycles for all their transportation needs. With the independence afforded by a bicycle, our participants have a much better chance of gaining and maintaining employment. A bicycle also enables a greater level of confidence and self-reliance that allows participants to more deeply engage with community resources and opportunities. A bicycle truly is a stepping stone to their success.”
